BRITTANY FARMS
Following plans laid out in the past year, Brittany Farms will close its doors at the end of 2024, after its final crop of yearlings are sold at the Lexington Selected Sale. While that comes with a tinge of sadness, this final chapter — in what has been a wonderful story of success — is only the end of the business itself. Brittany’s legacy will live on in the sport of harness racing for generations to come, thanks to the bloodlines of the champions it has produced over the past 38 years.
Having bred 30 Breeders Crown champions and 47 million dollar-plus winners, Brittany is responsible for producing not only great racehorses, but successful sires and dams that have made their way to Standardbred farms across the world. Those horses, and many others, will wield their influence within pedigrees for many years to come. And it’s entirely possible that the farm’s yearlings of 2024 could include the best and brightest star of them all!
